Topical themes, outstanding guest speakers

Since 1990, the Network has been holding professional development retreats every two years. These training activities, conducted by experienced specialists, have dealt with bilingual revision, tools for self-development, the concept and techniques of plain language, translation in advertising, legal translation, customer service, and information technology as a tool for translation.

This year, the Organizing Committee has called on a team of irrepressible verbivores who certainly won’t be biting their tongues. As usual, the slate of workshops and roundtables will be serving up plenty of opportunities to learn and discuss and debate: rediscover how French and English see the world through different eyes; harness the new features of Antidote; take in a panel discussion on the winding road of spelling reform in la langue de Molière; acquaint yourself with Franqus, Quebec’s new and very own dictionary of the French language; and learn about North America’s distinctive repertoire of French-language gems.

And of course, what would a 25th-anniversary conference be without a good blend of socializing and networking?

To entice you into registering as early as possible, we’ll be holding a special draw at the conference for all early-bird registrants. You have until June 25 to qualify! Two prizes are up for grabs:
1st prize: Gift certificate for a free professional development seminar with Magistrad (valid for one year)
2nd prize: Free one-year membership (new or returning) with the NTE.
